Tithes & Offerings

At Vista, we believe that the Bible calls us to be cheerful givers, and bring our tithes and offerings as worship to God. We follow the principle of tithing, or giving a tenth of our income back to God as our first and best worship to him. We give with the understanding of God's great provision for us, acknowledging that we live in total dependence on Him for all that we have. Offerings are gifts above and beyond the Biblical principle of the tithe and are brought as worship to God to further support His mission through the church.

2 Corinthians 9:7
“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

How to Give:

1) Pay with a Check

The best method is simply to write a check and give when the offering is taken after worship during our Sunday services, or mail it to the Vista Church office (3000 Broad St. Suite 107, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401). This way you can physically offer your tithe to God as worship each month.

2) Online Bill-Pay

If you find yourself regularly forgetting to write your tithe check each month, it can be a good option to use your bank's online bill-pay system. Bill-pay allows your bank to mail a check directly to Vista. To set up bill-pay, select the “pay an individual” option or set up a new payee. Here is the information your bank might require:

Name (Payee Name): Vista Church

Address (Payee Address): 3000 Broad St. Suite 107, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401

Phone Number (Payee Phone): (805) 548-1740

If there is a space to enter a note or a message, you can simply put whether it’s a tithe or offering. Below are some common bill-pay links. If you need more help, contact your bank to get set up.

3) Online with Tithe.ly

The last option is giving through Tithe.ly on your desktop or mobile phone. This is a convenient way to give your tithe, but there is a small fee associated with the transaction. To ensure that all of the tithe goes to God through the local church, Tithe.ly has added a small check-box which allows the giver to cover the convenience fee.
